Mediation / Collaborative Law
For families committed to resolving their family law situation in a cooperative way, Mediation or Collaborative Law may be the answer. In Mediation, we act as a neutral third-party, and facilitate both parties arriving at a mutually-acceptable solution. In Collaborative Law, all parties are contractually bound to negotiate an out-of-court settlement. While these options are not for everyone, they do have the potential to reduce the time, cost and emotional impact of a family law dispute.

Divorce / Custody / Support
Experiencing divorce is one of the most difficult times, emotionally and financially, that a family faces. It is also a time when the advice and counsel of an attorney is indispensable. We will meet with you to discuss the issues in your particular case, and plan a strategy to protect yourself and your children during and after the divorce. We believe that representation in divorce is not simply about the end of a marriage, but rather about successfully restructuring your family for the future.

Unmarried Couples
Many individuals chose to live together prior to, or in place of marriage. Although the law protects the rights of spouses, unmarried couples do not have the luxury of this protection. Rather, the rights of unmarried couples in a relationship are governed by contract law. It is imperative, therefore, for individuals who chose not to, or can not, marry to protect the integrity of their relationship with various legal documents providing rights to their partner. These documents cover a wide range of issues from joint ownership of property, to health care rights, to parenting arrangements, to the passing of property under a will or trust in the event of the death of one party, to a division of assets should the relationship end. We are well-equipped to counsel and assist you in navigating this rapidly developing area of law.

Adoption / Surrogacy
Having a child is one of the most joyous moments that a family experiences. For some families, however, the road to parenthood is a winding one. For these families, adoption or surrogacy may be the answer. We will explain the legal implications of different adoption and surrogacy options, as well as the differences in adoption and surrogacy laws in different counties and states, in an effort to identify the best option, from a legal perspective, for each individual family.

Civil Litigation
There are many instances when it is necessary to resort to the court process to remedy a wrong or address a contract default.  The key to successful representation in civil litigation is thorough preparation, attention to detail, and expertise in negotiating techniques.  We are committed to providing our clients with world-class representation in all of their civil disputes.

Real Estate
In even the simplest of transactions, many tasks must be completed between the signing of a Real Estate Sales contract and a successful closing. The initial review of the contract, the negotiation and execution of any modifications to the contract, the preparation of legal documents to transfer ownership rights in land and personal property, performing the title search and clearing irregularities, reviewing the survey and legal description all require careful review and expertise. We ensure that all of these tasks are completed before closing, counsel our clients about their legal options should difficulties arise, and aggressively represent our clients' interests in the unlikely event that litigation is necessary.

Wills, Trusts & Advaned Planning
Taking the time to plan your estate is a very important, but often overlooked, legal process. The need for an estate plan is even more vital for families with children, as it is the only way that a parent can decide who should raise their child and control their child's finances if the parent no longer could. Although no one likes to contemplate the inevitable, a thorough estate plan is a powerful way to protect your child and your heirs after you are gone.

Probate
The process of distributing the financial estate of a departed individual usually falls upon a friend or family member. This person must collect the assets, pay the debts, and distribute the remainder according to the will or, in the absence of a will, according to the state law. As the attorney for the estate, we handle all court filings and the bulk of work required to collect and transfer the assets. We also represent the estate in any contests of the will, or related legal difficulties in the administration of the estate.

International Law
The world grows smaller everyday, placing both individuals and corporations in direct contact with international and multinational legal affairs.  We draw on our background in international issues and European Union law, as well as our cooperation with foreign attorneys, to provide first-class representaiton in all international legal matters.
